I was built in the 1930’s at the Rolls Royce plant in Springfield, Massachusetts.
as a six cylinder three speed transmission with 4 1/4 inch bore pistons, dual ignition
and shiney 5000 tube radiator core, 19 inch chrome wheels,
and detachable rear trunk, standard on this model.
Referred to as the “Phantom One” at that time, and stamped with
serial number #S240pr, I, Phantom One was, therefore, the second to last made
of the series that ended with serial #S241pr.
My chassis was driven from Springfield, Massachusetts to long Island, New York
where it was fitted with a sleek new Saint Andrews Town Car limousine Body,
black leather upholstry and a convertable roof in the driver compartment,
and two toned Broad Cloth with two brass jump seats in the
rear passengers compartment and reading lights.
I was purchased new in 1934 for $18,500 by a Mr. Waggoner whom
lived in Manhattan, New York.
In 1939, a gentlemen by the name of F.L.Crocker purchased me.
At the time, he lived at 46 E.69th Street and worked at
247 Park Avenue in Manhattan.
By 1943, I was sold to Henry Bass of Gloversville, New York.
There I stayed until 1954.
In 1955, Claude Creapeau of Greenfielf, Massachusetts purchased me
from Mr. Bass.
I moved to Greenfield, Massachusetts where I resided for the next forty years.
In 1995 Claude Chapeau’s nephew David La Fleur of Agawam, Massachusetts
became my new owner.
In 1996, I was purchased by John Carlson of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts
and in 1999 with the help of Bob Jefferson I underwent
an extensive 10 year restoration.
By 2007, I received 2 new blocks, radiator, and an aluminum head.
At last I have been restored to my original Phantom One S240pr self.
